MOTHERS OF THE WORLD

MAMANS DU MONDE: MATERNITÉ ET MIGRATIONEVENT by European Network Of Migrant Women
4th Feb 2023

In the framework of the International Day for Women’s Rights, the European Network of Migrant Women (ENoMW) and its members in Belgium are organising a full afternoon of discussions, workshops, activities and entertainment, by and for migrant mothers, their families and friends.

In this context, I am honored to represent femLENS’ work and showcase my photography documentary research Stories Of Migrant Women. The event has been possible thanks to the support and collaboration of La Tricoterie, the Mums@Work European project, and femLENS. Co-financed by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the European Union.

  • The event “Mothers of the World: Motherhood and Migration” will take place on Saturday 4 March from 13h-21h Brussels time, in La Tricoterie (Brussels), and is open to all. During the day, we’ve organised the presence of volunteers for child-care, so that mothers can enjoy all activities. The event marks the closing of the Mums at Work project, during which partners worked towards the sustainable employability of migrant mothers aged 25-50 in Germany, France, Spain, The Netherlands, Italy, and Cyprus.
  • The program: on the day you’ll find a market of creations by migrant mothers (the migrant mothers who take care of the stands only take cash, not cards), world food stands, concerts, projections and a photo exhibition on migrant mothers, inspiring speakers, workshops, conference with experts on motherhood and migration, activities for children and more!

This event’s language is French & for free
