The Sunday Times Singapore has published a survey that has revealed the perception of non-essentiality of the artists’ work from their audience, opening a controversial debate that has also reached the West. I wanted to investigate this aspect of the art world, very much materialistic.  The difference in perspective on the accessibility of art professions by women is really interesting: in the first speech, Balasso states that the world of art is one of the sectors in which women have access to the most. Is it possible, perhaps, to find a different perception between “entertainment” art (theater, audiovisual, cinema, etc.) and other types of artistic practice? This investigation does not aim to demonstrate a point. Instead, the goal is to dig under the surface of the myth of the artist to discover how different artists perceive their job.
